Micro Tests

Yesterday, I didn't do much except at night, I did a micro practise test and got 10/10!

I met a person who I had met during O week which was nice. Bumped into Seb Simpson and did nothing for about one hour with him and Matt who I met at my micro tutorial. I did a couple more micro practise tests but did badly. 6/10, 7/10, 9/10 and now my brain is very tired and I have a headache. Also tried finding ERC today but it's under construction.

Went Out 3 times

This morning, I went running. Ran 1km and was very tired and walked back home. Did quite a bit of accounting today as well. Nearly finished the assignment now. Walked around Balwyn with my mum in the afternoon and at night, our place didn't have any water so we walked to my grandparents' place to get some water.

Accounting Day

I spent 4+hrs yesterday doing accounting and it's slowly getting easier. Wrote down a couple of rough ideas about what I'm going to write on my assignment. Watched the Essendon vs North Melbourne match on TV which was very good (I barrack for the Bombers). What a comeback from being a few goals down to winning by 40+ points! Also went to have dinner yesterday night which was yummy. Ordered 5 plates of food for 3 people. Only ate about half of the stuff but took the rest home.

Easter!!!

Well, I went to church and had a really great time there. A time of meditation on God, after all, that is what Easter is all about! Went home. I'm so bored of home now. Tonight, I went to my grandparent's place for dinner and played a bit of mahjong there. Didn't do much work today because I really didn't want to.

Easter Saturday

Taught my first piano student today! Was a bit nervous but it went fine. Didn't do much work at all. I guess it's because I have a whole week to do it although I do have a couple of assignments. Got pretty bored today so I did a little bit of business law. Nothing much happened. Watched a bit of afl as well.

Good Friday

On Wednesday, I met up with David and did some secret trading with him. Saw Karl as well. Went with David to boost juice which was expensive but nice. Walked along Lygon Street and then went home. That night, I went to Oxygen and saw a couple of familiar faces. The message was very good and challenging.

On Thursday, I met up with Phoebe which seems to be turning into a weekly thing. Afterwards, my foot started hurting so I went home rather than staying around uni. Watched afl and finished my maths assignment which was incredibly easy.

Today, I went for yum cha in Box Hill and stayed home doing assignments. Looked at the dark sky in the morning and thought about how much God cared for his son Jesus.

Guess who I saw!

Two days ago, I went to church at 9am. Now I have been to the Maningham 9, 10 & 11 am services! Did a lot of accounting that day.

Yesterday, I was the first one who went to an accounting consult which was helpful. It was boiling hot that day. Dilini came over and we had dinner at a chinese restaurant. My memory isn't very good or I am tired.

Today, I saw Steve Bracks for a few minutes than opted to go to chess club because I preferred chess over a long speech. One once and lost once. Wagged my first lecture which was business law to go to another accounting consult. That's about it.

Piano

Yesterday, I went to uni and for a Student Representatives thing with free pizza. Went to maths lecture after that where Seb failed to solve a Sudoku. Went to Allans Music after that and played piano for a bit then went home. Been practising piano a lot this week. In particular, Chopin's Ballade No.1 which I am currently obsessed with. Been properly practising it for around a week and can nearly play it smoothly (although wrong notes everywhere). It's my favourite piece at the moment.

Today, I was going to teach my first piano student but he got sick. I will be predicting the future here but I'm just going to stay home doing tutorial work and watching friends for the rest of the day.

Wed & Thurs

Well, two days ago I bumped into Phoebe again! Went to chess club and beat one guy three times which was fun. Came home and did some business law work. Nothing much happened that day or maybe I just can't remember.

Yesterday, I when to Micro and talked with a friend from my primary school who I hadn't seen for 7 years! First person that I have talked to from primary school for that 7 years (didn't keep in contact with anyone). Went with Phoebe for lunch and had Indonesian/Singaporean/Malaysian food for lunch. Went to christian union bible study a while after that and then went home.

Two days

Yesterday, I had my first tutorial and was a bit late for that because I couldn't catch a tram up Swanston Street because of Labour Day celebrations. Had two tutorials and one lecture today. Transition to Commerce was incredibly boring. It was about plagiarism and I nearly fell asleep. By the end of the day, I was beginning to faint because of the heat and was saved by a 7-11 slurpee. Waited for a bus for half an hour not sure whether it would come because it was labour day. It ended up not coming so I trammed home. Solved a slightly challenging maths problem on the tram home. Didn't do any uni work but instead watched and listened to classical music on youtube last night.

Today, I sat by myself for both microeconomics and accounting. For now, microeconomics is just common sense but accounting is a bit challenging because of the terminology. Saw a few familiar faces, went to chess club and then had coffee with a friend. Sat with Ray during business law which was boring too. Waited for the bus for half an hour but this time, it did come!

Weekend

Didn't do much these two days. Went to church which was good, did homework and watched friends. Now I'm up to date with uni work. I was frustrated at not being able to beat the chess program on this mac computer but when I versed it with GNU Chess, it won even though it played black! I don't feel so bad at chess now. I wonder who's in my tutorials. Guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Chess

Went to chess club today and embarassingly lost to Seb. Saw Karl and a few other Trinity guys before that as well. Volunteered to be class representative of Maths B and was chosen (3 were chosen out of a possible 5). Went home after a short day and versed GNU Chess 4.0 and won! Was stoked and still am stoked! Watched a couple of hours of friends and now I am very tired.

Oxygen & More Uni

Yesterday, I didn't have enough time to post here. So much on yesterday and now I need to recover the bits and pieces of yesterday.

Woke up late and went to uni for chess club. Played transfer chess but that was too confusing but played a proper game of chess after that and I won! I was happy afterwards and still am happy. I played white and short castled to the white. I then sacrificed my rook for my attack which wasn't very good but she couldn't afford to lose initiative because my queen was in a very strong position. She then chased my king from the bottom right of the board to the top right of the board. She had to give up initiative because she couldn't checkmate me. I checked her a few times and won my rook back with us both losing queens. We both had I think it was 3 pawns and a bishop and she made a mistake by attacking my bishop that was on the same diagonal as her king because I could then run my pawn down for a queen without her taking it cause her bishop was pinned to her king (complicated, I know). Then had maths class and went to table tennis club tryout free session afterwards. Won my games but it was frustrating with some of my opponents using dead rubber bats. Still not sure if I should join table tennis club. Went to oxygen (christian young adults gathering) that night and had long christian talks with Ben who drove me there. The message was good and confirmed what I thought of God. Got back home at around 11:30 and went straight to bed.

Today, I went to two early morning lectures (10 & 11) and studied an hour of microeconomics. When I was leaving uni for lunch, I saw Matt Ely who went with me to have lunch. We sat with Will Yeung and a couple of girls outside union house. Tongy came walked by and we talked more and then he left without saying bye (he just walked off). Then David Clifford walked by and I followed him to the hall where he lived. His place has so much more place than Seb's! We then walked and talked all the way to Melbourne Central where he bought a boost juice and we talked again. It was fun and we hadn't caught up with each other for so long. He then jumped on a tram back to his hall hardly saying goodbye at all and I went home.

Uni's Great!

Another busy day today. Went for a micro lecture and met a person called Grace and then went to accounting with her as well. Lectures were alright. Had lunch by myself (walked around a while but found no friends). Had a chicken kebab roll and a coke. Then went to a leadership meeting thing and left because it wasn't for first year guys. Left and went to chess club and beat this poor guy who was beating me but I back-rank checkmated him (so lucky but it didn't really feel like a win). Met a girl called Li Ern there who was ranked 5 nationally in Malaysia at chess just a couple of years ago. Talked for the better part of an hour and then went to a two hour business law lecture. Sat with Ray who went to Trinity but a year ahead of me and talked to Jonathan Brancato there as well. Then I went home after a long day.

Start of University

Actually, I wasn't well today but still went to uni because I had to organize books and course notes and everything else. Didn't have classes until 3pm so I went looking for cheap second hand books for uni. When my mum asked the person at the counter, it just happened that the person behind us was selling the books that I needed and we got them for a very cheap price (compared to buying from the store or anywhere else). I was then dropped off at uni and bought the Maths B course notebook. Then I went to the law building to buy the business law stuff (law is so far away!). Then I walked all the way back for Transition to Commerce which I got lost but when I finally found the theatre it was locked. I then went to the Commerce Student Centre and Phoebe was there helping people out. She told me it was in the theatre that I had found so I went back there and found a way in but they had mechanics there so I kinda missed the lecture (if it actually existed). Afterwards, I went to my first lecture which was maths and met an American exchange student called Sam who's from Illinois. Then bought the maths textbook very cheap from a very nice person (both in that she sold the book very cheap and she is actually very friendly). So after a long day, I carried a lot of books home on the tram. The end of such a long day!

CityLife Church

Today was the opening of CityLife Church opening. Even though I got there 10+ minutes earlier than the service started, it was already full and had to park outside on the streets. The service was great! Saw a couple of familiar faces and surprisingly Phoebe who cleared up a few things regarding the Melbourne Uni timetable for me. There were so many people there! The service was packed and people even had to be turned away! My first lecture is tomorrow afternoon and it should be good.

Surprise Visit

Andrew Tong came over today for a couple of hours and we played chinese chess, scrabble and monopoly. I hadn't seen him in so long that I thought he may have gone missing. Although we didn't really talk that much, it was great fun. I'm now finding that I should use my melbourne uni diary a lot so I don't forget things or get lost. There are so many things to prepare! Watched a lot of friends and a chinese series today and I'm really tired from staring at a TV for hours.
